I believe that I could do a better job of representing the people of Escondido, I do recognize that the current city council has done some positive things. On this page I will cover some of the resolutions that I have agreed with and some of the ones I disagree with on principal.

Positive accomplishments:

  • Voted to follow State law to include fluoride in the drinking water
  • Convinced a developer to build a luxury hotel downtown.
  • Did not lose the Palomar Pomerado Hospital to another city.
  • Approved a new cement plant that will bring in $180,000 in annual sale tax revenue.
  • Encouraged many residents to become involved in politics.

    More to come:
  • Negative accomplishments:

Support for the failed ballot initiative for a State Border Police

  • Contributed $16.5 million city funds to aid developer to build hotel
  • Unfair use of eminent domain to aid private development
  • Using only fines instead of incentives for the shopping cart ordinance
  • Using downtown commercial land for more condominiums
  • Expensive support for a law to ban landlords from renting to illegal immigrants
  • Proposing raising city services fees after giving huge raises to the city manager and city attorney
